EVERYDAY LIVING

Roommates: split household expenses

Keep groceries, cleaning supplies, and shared purchases clear without searching through messages. Use a private household circle and a trip expense plan named for your month at home.

How to use Kinquiva

  1. Create a circle for your roommates and a plan such as “October household costs.”
  2. Record who paid each expense in USD and select the roommates who share it.
  3. Use equal or exact splits, attach receipt photos, and review suggested settlements.
For example

Three roommates share $90 of supplies equally: $30 each. A $40 grocery purchase for only two roommates stays between those two.

REASONS TO CELEBRATE

Parties: share the costs of hosting

Plan the spending for a birthday dinner, backyard cookout, or holiday party with your co-hosts. Keep a shared gift alongside the event expenses in the same circle.

How to use Kinquiva

  1. Invite the co-hosts to a private circle.
  2. Use a trip expense plan for food, decorations, and venue costs, choosing who shares each expense.
  3. Create a separate group gift to compare ideas, track pledges, and assign a buyer.
For example

Four co-hosts split $200 of food and decorations: $50 each. A separate gift plan keeps the birthday present out of the party-cost totals.

THOUGHTFUL SURPRISES

Birthdays and milestones: organize a group gift

Give one thoughtful present from friends or family for a birthday, graduation, or retirement. Keep ideas, decisions, and commitments together.

How to use Kinquiva

  1. Create a gift, add product links and photos, and poll your circle on the options.
  2. Track each person’s pledge and choose the person who will buy the gift.
  3. Select the recipient to keep the surprise hidden from their account.
For example

Six friends pledge $25 each toward a $150 graduation gift. One buyer handles the purchase after the group agrees.

TIME AWAY

Group trips: split cabins, meals, and fuel

Spend more time enjoying the weekend and less time reconstructing who paid. Keep travel expenses and receipt photos with your travel crew.

How to use Kinquiva

  1. Create a trip inside your circle and add the people taking part.
  2. Record cabin, fuel, and meal costs as they happen.
  3. Review balances and suggested settlements after choosing equal or exact shares.
For example

Split the cabin among everyone, but share a dinner only with the people who attended. All recorded amounts are in USD.

BIG MOMENTS

Wedding crews: coordinate gifts and getaway costs

Bring bridesmaids, groomsmen, or close friends together for a shared present and a bachelor or bachelorette weekend.

How to use Kinquiva

  1. Make a circle for the organizing crew.
  2. Track a wedding gift in its own gift plan, with pledges and a designated buyer.
  3. Use a trip plan for accommodation and shared outings, with exact shares when contributions differ.
For example

The crew splits a weekend rental equally and records a separate dinner with custom shares. Wedding-gift pledges remain in the gift plan.

Friends and clubs: make progress with a group challenge

How to use Kinquiva

  1. Choose an activity unit, dates, a goal, and clear rules.
  2. Log activities manually, optionally adding a photo or proof link.
  3. Follow the leaderboard, share cheers, and finalize winners after the deadline.

A few details before you start

Can I use trip expenses for a household or a party?

Yes. Use the trip expense feature as a shared cost plan, give it a recognizable name, and choose who shares each expense. Enter expenses manually; Kinquiva does not sync bank accounts or automatically schedule recurring bills.

Does Kinquiva collect contributions or send payments?

No. Gifts record pledges, expense plans calculate balances and suggest settlements, and challenges record prizes. Your group arranges payments and prize delivery separately. Expense amounts are in USD.

Is this an event booking or RSVP tool?

No. These examples use private circles, gifts, expense plans, and challenges to organize shared decisions and costs. Arrange RSVPs, bookings, and event schedules separately.

What happens after the free year?

Your first year starts at signup. No credit card is required and there are no automatic charges. Paid plans will be introduced later; workspace access pauses at the end of your free year until a plan is available. See the first-year offer.
